Free Trade Agreements
The U.S. is a signatory to many multilateral (e.g., the NAFTA, the U.S.-Caribbean Basin Trade Partnership) and bilateral (e.g., U.S.-Chile, U.S.-Jordan) trade agreements. These agreements furnish U.S.-based importers with the opportunity to source products from many regions with economically favorable treatment such as lower or zero import duties on these countries' products. We counsel clients in the detailed free trade agreement rules to enable our clients to cost-effectively source their products from participating countries or regions.
